Teddies for Tragedy

Do you have friends and family members who would like to be involved with Active 20-30 in a creative, hands-on way? Teddies for Tragedies is a simple, inexpensive and FUN way to help children around the world who have been affected by catastrophic events or personal tragedies in their lives. We are asking clubs and/or club members to solicit help from friends, family and their local communities to have small teddy bears knitted or crocheted that we can then pass along to children who need a new friend in their lives. Click the article title for a knitting pattern. The only cost involved is the cost of the raw materials. Bears can be shipped at any time to Robyn Kelly (address information in the national website members section) for storage until a request is made. We will also be collecting the bears at national meetings and during convention. If your club would like to request bears to give to children in need, please contact 2030teddy@comcast.net. If you have any questions about the project, please contact Shannan Odum at shannan2030@gmail.com.
National Dues Increase

National Membership Dues for 2008/2009 will be $90.00 per member. The 2005/2006 National Board of Directors voted to ensure the future existance of Active 20-30 US & Canada by establishing a graduated, modest dues increase over a five-year period. Click the article title above for details.
Discounted Web Hosting and Applications

All clubs shall now have a free web page on the national site that your members can update with no HTML experience and no hosting fees. If you already have a professionally designed site, you may either redirect this site to your current page or use this free page as a placeholder with a link to your professionally designed site. Discounted Web Hosting for Active 20-30 USA & Canada clubs is now available through the National Office. A beneficial side-effect of the recent website makeover now allows the National Office to provide "webspace" for interested clubs on the National Web Server at greatly reduced costs. Additionally, modules such as the Calendar, Photo Gallery, Volunteer Management Tool, Document Management and News Room are available a la carte at greatly reduced prices ($1,000 each) or you can purchase the entire Active 20-30 web site for 25% of retail - just $2500! Please contact your Region One Director for more information on how your club can empower your members with a site that will be hosted for free (with purchase) and updated for life - for free!
