 Region Four

Joe Marcione, Auburn #19
2008-2009 National Director Region 4

My name is Joe Marcione, and this is my fourth year as an Active 20-30 member.  It is a great time for me in this organization, being part of Auburn #19 as we celebrate 80 years of continuous service in our community, and to also be able to serve as your Region 4 Director.  Since joining Active 20-30 I have held various positions in my home club including Director, Secretary, Vice-President and most recently, President.  As a sponsor of five new members, I received the Key Member Award.  I have met numerous people in this organization by attending club and national events and, as we share the same passion for helping children, many of them have become life long friends.  With the opportunity to serve as Regional Director, I hope to make many more friends.
There so many things I would like to accomplish this term, and one of my top priorities for Region 4 is to help the membership flourish. I will be in touch with all Club Presidents for ideas on what is working, then share those ideas with clubs that may be struggling.  Let’s make the region with the fewest clubs pack the biggest punch!
I have hit the ground running and have already attended several events/meetings in my capacity as a National representative.  Let's bond and grow as a region and give a helping hand whenever and wherever possible. Opportunities to get involved include these upcoming events:  Auburn's 80th celebration, Roc'n for Kids, Region 4 Picnic, Halloween party in Carson City, building a park in Placerville and so much more... Watch for announcements or check out the calendar on the National website for more info.  I was proud to be part of Greater Folsom #77's first event as a new club (Spikes for Bikes) which, in my opinion, was a great success.  This club did a fabulous job and a good time was had by all.  I am looking forward to many more successful events in our region.

Let's have a great ‘08-‘09 and spread the word about what makes us part of the best organization anywhere.  Let's MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
