The game-worn jersey auction that was held on eBay finished strong raising $9,880 the Active 20/30 Club, which supports local youth organizations that help disabled or less fortunate children. The #44 Yutaka Fukufuji jersey set the high mark for the auction, bringing in $735.
"On behalf of the Active 20-30 Club Bakersfield #27, I would like to thank everyone who helped with and participated in this year's Bakersfield Condors Jersey Auction. This event raises thousands of dollars that, through our organization, are returned directly to the needy children of our local community," said Active 20/30 Club President Brett McCune. "The money that has been graciously given through this event goes to great organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, M.A.R.E, and the Police Activities League just to name a few. From the hearts of the members of Active 20/30 and the children of this community we greatly thank you!"
The Condors Jersey Auctions raised $78,703 this season. That money has gone to the Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Clubs of Kern County, Petroleum Shrine Club, American Red Cross - Kern Chapter, the Foundations for Mercy and Memorial Hospitals and the Active 20/30 Club.

The Condors will be present at the Downtown Street Faire on Chester Avenue from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Condors will have an informational table and the ever-popular Condors prize wheel. Street Faire attendees will be able to win Condors merchandise on the prize wheel and test their skills in the Condors inflatable slapshot. Condors mascot Baby Cal will attend the event to entertain the kids.
Week In Review:
Condors mascot Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal made their presence known around Bakersfield this past week by attending celebrity reader events at Suburu Elementary School on Monday and Rio Bravo Elementary School on Wednesday. Colonel also attended a county-wide "Just Say No" rally at Roosevelt Elementary School on Wednesday. The Condors mascots also competed at the Bakersfield Blaze School Day Game, attended the CALM birthday party and rocked out at the Alzheimer's Associations Rockin' for Alzheimers event. Condors Nominated for Beautiful Bakersfield Award:
The Condors have been nominated for the 2009 Beautiful Bakersfield Award hosted by the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce. The Condors, receiving the nomination in the Group Humanitarian Category, raised more than $450,000 in cash, goods and services for non-profit organizations during the 2008 calendar year. The Condors are perennial Beautiful Bakersfield Award Nominees and have taken home the Crystal Camelliain 2000, 2006 and 2007.
