National Board of Directors

The National Board of Directors for Active 20-30 US & Canada serve actively and on a volunteer basis. The Board is comprised of the President, President-Elect and Immediate Past President, Secretary/Treasurer along with six Directors - each representing a group of clubs - including an International Relations Officer.

In addition to the Board of Directors, committees comprised of members from coast-to-coast work to advance the strategic plan and objectives of Active 20-30.

Monica Uriarte (San Francisco)
c: 707-696-7719

Monica has been an active member of San Francisco #4 since 2011, serving her club as President (two terms), Immediate Past-President, Treasurer and Board Member. She has chaired many of San Francisco #4's fundraisers and service projects, her favorite being Take the Field in 2014. She has served the national organization as the PR Committee Chair for the last year and chaired the 2015 National Convention in San Francisco. Monica is looking forward to a great term!

Monica is a proud Oregon Duck, having achieved her Bachelor's and Masters' Degrees in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon. She is currently working as a fund development consultant and grant writer for the Alameda County Probation Department and other nonprofit and government clients. She is passionate about supporting organizations in strategic planning, fundraising and effective and efficient operations so they can better achieve their missions. She loves spending time with her husband and current President of San Francisco #4, Martin and their three kitties. Together they love Oregon football (Go Ducks!), travelling, and giving back to the community.

Tommy Lovell

Tommy has been a member of The Carson Valley #85 since 2006.  During that time he has served on the local Board of Directors as President, Vice President, Director, Secretary, as well as leading numerous other projects.  Tommy was the chairman of the 106th annual Carson Valley Days in 2013.  Two years ago he served on the National Board as Region 4 Director. He looks forward to a new challenge and opportunity in the Active 20-30 Club as the National President-Elect.

Personally, Tommy has called the Carson Valley home for over twenty years.  He has enjoyed the small town atmosphere and lifelong friendships found in this wonderful community.  Tommy enjoys spending his summer weekends camping in the beautiful Sierra Nevada and fall weekends at Nevada Wolf Pack games.  Tommy is excited for a great year throughout Active 20-30.

Immediate Past President:

Dana Von Sternberg (Sebastopol)
c: 707-484-1917

Dana took his first steps in a gem office in Idar-Oberstein, Germany and has been involved in some facet of the gem industry ever since. While recent endeavors have included wine- and transportation-based businesses, his true passion continues to be with diamonds and gemstones, and the jewelry that includes them.

Dana has been an active member of Active 20-30 for nearly eight years as a member of the Santa Rosa Club before calling the Sebastopol Club home. Dana has served in many local positions and taken the lead on numerous charitable events. He has taken the most pride in acting as co-chair for the 2010 National/International/WOCO convention held in Santa Rosa in 2010. Dana is excited to hold his first National role and is looking forward to being a part of what will surely be a great year of growth for the organization.
